Red House (sort of)
I love his control, precision, and touch.

Ya, kind of corny but the playing is sweet.
So much for 'He can only play one thing all the time'.
I love Hendrix touch and phrasing but I love this guy too.
Hendrix is buttery pancakes with a side of eggs doused in hot sauce.
This guy is a beautiful, perfectly carved ice sculpture.

Eh.
It ain't no better than the Paul Gilbert, Johnny Winter, or Gary Moore version iof the same song...well...the vocals are better than Moore's, imo. But as far as guitar work...Malmsteen's has no more affect on me than anyone else's, in spite of the number of notes...perhaps that makes me odd...I dunno.

Regarding touch. Yes there is something about it. It is everything, as far as I am concerned.
Is the spell checker also on Holiday? It ignored some of my typos.

It aint about number of notes. He doesn't have that chunky plasticy pick sound when he plays fast like a lot of them others. Eveything is glassy smooth, and clean, and his bends and vibrato are perfect.
- To me.

Oh, I agree that his techical abilities are top-notch. Still, I can feel as much or more from the "lesser" achieved players, somehow.

Im not a big Malmsteen fan but that is awesome. He put his own stamp on the song and basically just owns it! One of the better covers of Red House Ive ever listened too.

Okay, I checked this again, & I can definitely see what you're talking about, Zip. He is a true master of technique, for sure. I guess I just have this thing about him...
