Well, I have been working my butt off getting ready for the new band I have the PRIVILIGE of working with. I decided to take a break from this forum (the only forum I read or post on) to get some things done and get my head straight. My youngest had scoliosis surgery last Tues. morning and is doing very well. He will get to come home Tomorrow so things are looking up. My son will be home and I get to play a gig with great musicians and gear in a nice club YEA!

Very happy for you on BOTH fronts, but especially your son's surgery!

Kick some ass at that gig brother!

I know you will though!

Try to get VIDEO or at least some AUDIO!

Thanks Craig, It is the same band that I was telling ya'll about Trial By Fire. We have been rehearsing twice a week for the last 3 weeks. We play a lot of songs 3 long sets with 2-15 minute breaks. I had to learn 50 songs. I must say I spent some time practicing hard!

Good to hear it man. Hopefully this will be the start of a long-time venture for you.

Not sure if you were here when I posted my new songs. Feel free to check out my profile for a listen.

Hope the gig goes well Jeff. Let us know how it turns out ok.

Thanks Shredd, I just started getting back to BM this morning and kind of skimmed over the topics and the main thing I want to do is get on your site and check out the new recordings I know they will be top knotch. I know you and your group have a lot of class and do things that are big. I am at work now but will check them out tomorrow morning. I bring my guitars to work and leave straight fromn here to rehearsal. We are having a short rehearsal tonight. Tomorrow is our first gig and something we have been working toward for about 2 months. They have a booking agent that handles the bookings and a sound guy that they rent. with a huge p.a. all I have to do is show up plug my gear in and set up the lights. This band is on the North side of Houston and I am on the South Side. That is the only negetive. These guy's and Girl are good and worth the drive. I don't know why she hasn't made it yet. Her voice and tonal quality are at such a high level. The cool thing is they have the band set up to where all we have to do is concentrate on the music and performance.

Shredd, I listened to the tracks you have posted on your site. Sky Down and Jah Soldier they sound great I really enjoyed them. You guy's are taking Reggae to a whole new level. Very professionally done the harmony vocals are great everything is just great congrats on the recordings.

The gig Sat. went great we had a great crowd all night of about 200. We were really interacting and performing at a high level. We had some problems with sound in the first set but got them worked out and continued to kick butt. I am very happy to be performing again and especially happy to be performing at the level I new we are capable of. We have the first gig under our belt it's on to the next gig. People were taking alot of pictures so if I can get my hands on some I will try to post them.

Bret (my son) came home from the hospital Sat. I told my family all I wanted for Fathers Day was for Bret to come home safe and better and that is exactly what I got. It just amazes me how far surgery has come He had very invasive surgery last Tuesday with 2 stainless steel rods put in to straighten his spine and he is home resting peacefully on just minimal pain meds. he is going to be just fine!

That sounds like things are coming together nicely for you. That's great. In fact, it looks like several of the guys on here are doing a whole lot better! Glad to hear your son is doing better.

About the drive. It's always worth the long drive to play with musicians you respect.

Good going JH!

I'm especially glad to hear that your boy's going to be alright.

I gotta go to the hospital with my grandson tomorrow, & as you can expect I'm a lil anxious, so I know how ya feel.

Keep the good news coming!

Keep rolling, sometimes with the punches, sometimes with the band.

Best wishes , good to hear from you.

Philby has actually agreed with me once or twice so this place has gotten boring.

Right now we are all sitting around waiting for 2012 to see who post's first :)
