Well, it looks like my flute choir arrangement of "Coffee Break" is gonna get performed by a 19 member flute choir of which I am a member. Believe me, I am upping this arrangement to have a more lush flutie sound. Here is the original which was written by guitarist, Billy Mclaughlin, who is pictured with me in my profile picture. This is not Billy plying the song here on You Tube, but you'll get the idea.

Philby, that's why I posted this here. I am getting on my family's nerves from being busting at the seams with pride. I wrote the arrangement as a tribute to Billy Mclaughlin so I want it to be something that he can be proud of too, man.

Never had the pleasure to play with a flute player, I'd bet it would be a trip it would force me to go out of my normal bounderies which is something I've been doing lately just to challenge myself musically.

I am sure that if everyone hangs tight here, something will come up where we can all play together. I would like to do something like the Youtube orchestra...That is a possibility.

The only fluterator I ever worked with was a rambling woman who had a terrible time with timing...& key...& taste...& stepping on the vocals...& she stunk, too (LITERALLY!)...

Still, for some reason, I like the sound of the thing.

Philby, I do not step on the feet of people that I am playing with. I think that is why so many enjoy playing with me. I listen to what the person is "saying" with their ax and I "answer" or "comment" as a means of communicating...not showing off. That way I can show off and people will love it

It's from experience and observation. Now to be honest with you, I was one of those who stepped on everything. I called myself taking advantage of the opportunity to demonstrate my ability. But, it destroyed my ability to play nice. There's others in the sand box and if I just carelessly tossed sand in their faces, they will not want to play with me again. Lack of musicianship is not something that I want to bring with me in my sand box of music. Oh, another thing, I am good with timing and key and I smell good, literally

Whenever ppl get started playing with others, they often get excited & overplay. It's a natural occurrence. The good ones get over it.

I did the same thing when I started out on bass, even though I'd played well enough on rhythm guitar in bands before. There's a huge difference between playing individual notes & playing chords & such, & it took me a bit to get myself together.

I think it's cuz a person's mind gets to racing in a new situation with a new skill set, & they forget what they're s'posed to be doing, more often than not, rather than any real drive to be the center of attention. At least that's how I saw it in myself.

Well, there's some things that are missing that really bugs me. Whenever Billy plays Coffee Break he always says "Ladies and gentlemen, Coffee Break is now over". I just love that he says that at the end of the song. Sooo, I put a quote from the melody often played on clocks or church bells indicating the time. This comes close to the end of the piece plus it makes for a better intro than what it is in the beginning. I will post it so that you can hear the difference and you tell me if you like it better or not. It's my way of saying Coffee Break is now over. And it works quite well rythmically with the other parts. There is other parts that are missing. So as I am working the missing parts in, I may not need the parts that azre there.
