Musician Forum - Band Discussion Board - BandMix

Last Thursday, when I went to see Iron Man 2 they announced that Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax were playing!!! I'm not sure when, or if the tickets are on sale yet, but I believe the show is in August(please correct me if I'm wrong). I hope the show doesen't sell out.

So, who's going? And if anyone here from CA is going then hit me up, cause I'm going.

I guess I just don't like rock music, cuz there isn't a single act listed that I'd pay anything to go & see...

I don't know, sometimes I'll see a show just if I know the performance will be good.

But of course, in this case, I not only know the performance will be good, but the songs will sound great too! I think this will be a friendly competition of a tour, cause everyone is going to try to raise the bar and these bands know that they have to keep up...especially with the expectations the fans are going to have.

This one's going to be intense!

Ive seen all of them but Anthrax, that would be a killer sow for sure!

yep, not to mention for alot of these bands your opportunities to see them are getting fewer and fewer, you'll more than likely never see these bands all together like this again, especially Megadeth and Metallica..I'd be stunned if Dave Mustaine and Lars Ulrich doesn't get into fist/slap fights.
This is a killer show, and if it comes anywhere near Tampa, I'm going, Philby the shows and bands you listen to must be damned spectacular..what bands were those again? I just have to ask, because you like to remind everyone how much their music tastes suck, alot. I value your knowledge and experience but I'd really love to see your music collection.

If I had a music collection anymore it would probably look a lot like Phil's.
I would not pay to see any of these bands either.

But you know, if I just happened to fall into one of these shows I'd probably enjoy it just the same.

I know. I'm weird.There are only a handful of acts that I really would go out of my way to see - Peter Gabriel, David Byrne, Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, Phish (well...if it weren't for their audience!)...

I've seen BOC a few times, & really enjoyed it. Deep Purple was okay, back in the day. Tull was great! So was Eddie Money, o my surprise. Steppenwolf was another one of the best I've seen, believe it or not.

On the other hand, Whitesnake sucked, as did far too many others to mention. The only reason I deign to mention Whitesnake is because they were SO bad!

Most of the 'louder' rock acts I've seen were just that - loud - & not very good, musically or vocally, &/or just lousy entertainers.

I don't wanna go pay good money to be called an MF'er, or to be screamed at, or to have to wear earplugs to be able to stand a show.
