No matter where you buy your car's fuel there is a damn good chance that it was manufacture from BP produced petroleum.

I wont go into a long dissertation about the origins and manufacture of " fuel" but you could write what the average consumer knows about it on a postage stamp with a fat crayon.

The jack asses in the congress and the senate should be the ones who really upset you. They NEVER take responsibility for ANYTHING their stupid legislation caused. This administration is just a do nothing blame machine.

People need to realize though that without petroleum products of all types, not just the energy it provides. That the majority of the global population would starve to death or die in the resultant violence in less than a year.
Mother earth cannot support the present population without mechanization of agriculture and transportation.

Ask your self this question, especially if you live in a metropolitan area of greater than 100k population.

What would life be like if suddenly the grocery store shelves were empty, the water stopped flowing and the climate control ( air condition and heating ) became unavailable ?? How long could you last ??

This sickens me but I do see the problem too. No company is different at these depths it could happen to another too. Hope not.

Frankly this is one issue where I don't give an 'F' about dollars and people to blame. This is really bad and will affect sea-life for many years. It's not a spill, its a GUSHER.

Too true Sans, the end of the world doesen't come once a year, it only comes once...and the disasters and threats are getting bigger and closer all the time.

They already exist, according to Stivie-Kiwi, a STICKMASTER & former merchant marine who worked the tankers.

The problem is volume. You'd need one helluva lot of them to handle just the surface contents of the spill.

I bet they find out that oil is coming up through the ocean floor too. Not just where the well was.
There is no way to stop it by mechanical means.

Maybe a large magnesium fire.

I seriously doubt that oil is escaping at the ocean floor at this well site.
Not only is the water 5k foot but the well is very deep also.

Many places in the world petroleum naturally leaks into the ocean.
Just not at this rate.

Yeah, well over here in the Bay oil has been secretly spilling from boats to the ocean floor. I guess that's another topic...needed to vent.
