Paleo, I know you're a Great guy and musician. All that breakfast stuff is just the lighter side of American life. Meanwhile I lost over $ 20,000 of biz last year. Most of it came from competing with our Govt. when they offered the cash for clunkers program. I'm just trying to keep my sense of humor.

I am totally amazed that our govt. is so concerned about helping small biz when they just put a major hurt on me. My only response is to start spending 20 or 30 grand on advertising, to increase my customer base.

I am going to have to put everything on the line, BANKS Aren't lending anything to small biz,things are not getting better.I am also torn because because it makes no sense to work for someone else for a weeks wages of say $1000 before taxes, when I can make 5 or more times that in a week.

But I can't compete If our Govt. keeps changing the rules. Jobs report came out,410,000 new jobs, 95% of that was census worker jobs counted 2 or 3 times,after layoff and rehire, what a joke, no wonder DJ dropped over 300 points.

Sorry Paleo, like I said I'm just trying to maintain a sense of humor, and just like Colors sometimes we just need to vent.

Perhaps you should ask the gov't for a bailout, Glen.

Or maybe take your biz to the next level...offering specialty clunkers to discriminating customers, with topless car washes tossed in, & nekkid lube jobs.

I don't have no answers, but I can sure be a smartass, huh?

I haven't noticed a lot of used car lots closing in my area, but maybe that's cuz I haven't been looking for them. Most of the places we have really should be shut down, as far as I'm concerned.

When I ws helping my son find a used car a few years ago, we took a car out on the interstate for a "test drive." It died on the highway, & we had to thumb our way back to the lot. Needless to say, we bought elsewhere.

Have you considered changing your biz to an auto auction? They're real popular these days, around here. Of course, you need the space to do it.

I'm a-babblin' this morning. Just a lil irritated cuz it's dribblin' outside & I wanna go feeshin', but none of the family seems to be awake. I might just say 'flook 'em' & go by myself!

I'm gonna try to find some work with the WV Housing Authority, since the gov't's buying ppl's windows & they need ppl to install them. It might be fun to be a gov't worker for awhile.

I don't wanna be a census taker.

There was a story awhile back about a "little person" (read that as 'midget') census taker, who was found...well...in someone's closet, recently. It seems that there was a big guy with special needs at home alone, while his mom went out to the store. When the census taker knocked, he grabbed her & put her in the closet. He'd never seen a midget before, & thought she was something out of a fantasy movie, I guess.

When his mom came home, he was feeding the census taker Skittles that he was rolling under the closet door, as she screamed for help.

Nope...don't wanna be a census taker. It's too dangerous!

Anyway...I hope your day brightens up a bit. Looks like rain here...but that'll prolly make for some fine feeshin', in spite of the clouds.

The local Wal Mart is hiring to remodel.

Dude, I applied to be a census taker a while back. I received a letter a week later saying that due to a "pending criminal" matter I would have to send in a fingerprint to the Govt. (I believe the FBI office). I haven't had so much as a parking ticket in over 20-years. f**k them. I refused to do it.

When the census lady showed up at my place ( I'd already filed the paper census ) we were setting up for band practice. Wife had some company over as well. She pulled up out at my shop as I walked out with guitar in hand. Introduced herself and then with a funny look on her face asked, "Who owns this home" when I told her I did she asked How many of you live here ?? I could not help but laugh at her.
