...a private message from myhitrecord.com requesting you to upload your music to their site so they can help you to spread the word about your music???

It's bad enough that I uploaded a small portion of my stuff up on here, but to request such a thing from an original artist is almost as bad as saying..."Hey, can I just steal your music and then when you make more, I'll steal that too."

Seems ludicris to me that anyone would even ask such a thing. What in the hell has Bandmix become? I've gotten absolutely no messages so far other than that. Pretty damn gay...I must say.

Well...who else has received one and what are your thoughts about this type of crap???

Hahahahahahaha! In the message, it says that it's not a bot or spam and that the message was hand-typed. Whoop-de-f*ckin'-doo!!! I hand-typed this too...

I got it. I just ignored it.

I rally don't have any issues what so ever about sharing our music.
After all we are on a mission from God.

Yeah Sans...I noticed that they were "Christian Contemporary" as well. Which is also a reason that I laughed about it (no offense to you ).

And Paul...normally I do that, but I was just curious as to why they'd send me that message. I mean, several of you fit the genre profiles, so I could see them sending you guys that...but me? Lololololololololol!!!

Anyway it's not a big deal. It's just a question after all...

And that's why I've respected you as well since the first time I posted here...the last time I was here. I lurked for a bit to see who was who so I knew if I was dealing with someone real, or just a big-mouth fake with nothin' to back it up. You always took the high road.

Well I guess that I should appologize, Kyle. But for the most part I get a ton of requests like that from Myspace and it gets old. Most of those guys are out to steal anything they can get their hands on and market it themselves. Since you seem sincere...I'm sorry for putting you in that category. In my case...I'm trying to start a new band at the moment, and the people that I'm trying to work with seem to have limited to zero time (one has pill issues unfortunately).

To get the first message from someone like you, and not a musician, just makes it seem all that much more worthless for a dude like myself to even have a page here. This place is all about musicians trying to contact other musicans to get bands together and such (at least it used to be). Not about bands trying to get their music out there necessarily.

Anyway...good luck with your site...and who knows...if I get something together here soon and get the new stuff recorded (because it totally smokes the stuff that I have up right now)...maybe we would end up on your site for a tune or two...

Honestly, I just don't really "get" the whole idea of winning a contract. Whatever happened to just signing a band you believed in? Playing it safe and being risk free just smells a little bit.
