Technically, moving to Gate City VA, but it's basically right there.

Curious what the music scene is like if anyone knows!

Might be looking for a band when I get there, or some folks to jam with, or who knows what...

I don't know anything about that area but I've driven through it a few times and it's absolutely beautiful there IMO. Hope everything works out for you.

Thanks Bob!

It will work out. I'm engaged to the most wonderful woman in the world. We have each other, so everything will be fine.

And yes, I've heard I'm going to love it there :-)

Hey man, it's bound to be better than your current area, right?
At least it should be, as far as 'number of venues to play'.
The club owners might not be as nice though.

OMG Colors, you will be nearly in the heart of Bluegrass Country. Bill Monroe is from that area. My wife is from Norton which is just North of there. That is a coal mining area and your winters will be cold and long. You will see that the more you explore the area the more beauty you will find. The people are pure and real Country folk. There is a drug problem there and unemployment is high. If you Love nature and getting into it you will be happy there. Don't wonder too far though cus if you run-up on a still, you may get shot. Your acoustic will get a real work out there.Clinch Mountain that is writen about so much and the Stanley Brothers are from that area too I believe. Ricky Scaggs - The Whites and the Carter family are from around there too I believe.

Yeah, I'm getting real familiar with some of that real fast, lol. My future in-laws actually created the Clinch Mountain Music Fest. Very cool... I'm going to miss it this year - it's June 12th and I won't be moved over there yet - but I'm sure I'll get the full effect next year.

I absolutely love that area. I wish I could visit it again soon.
