Just thought you guys would like to see what our album cover is expected to be. I'm pretty sure this will be what it looks like.





Our singer Ryan made it. What do you think?

Cool pics. I like it, though it seems a little monochromatic.

I like it too. But some how I expected something aquatic.

Personally, I would go with just HALEAMANO, and leave off house of sharks at the bottom.

(they have to be in the ohana to know what it means.)

I'm with Zip. I think you should just keep it self-titled with the art you have.

I personally like what Ryan has done. We're taking the writing off of the bottom of the back of the cd and putting it inside. But I was surprised when I first saw it. It has a dark mystique to it. I'm just glad it's not bubbly or bright.

The HOUSE OF SHARKS part of it was a whole band decision. We wanted people to know what our band name means. It's been the hardest thing to get people to remember HaleAmano, especially when you first say it to someone. We all think this just makes it easier.

Anyway, I'm happy with it. I like it a lot.

On a different note, there was a whole blow up argument last night over whether we were going to put the lyrics in the cd or not. I didn't want it, most of the band didn't want it, one person REALLY wanted it, and it got a little ugly. Arguing over how many pages to the cover, the thank-you's, it was a mess. Why is it that CDs bring out the worst in a band?? I just want this whole thing to be done and pressed so the band will stop a lot of the petty arguments. It's been going on since the start of the recording.

I, too, prefer lyrics to pics, but if you can do both, do both. Just speaking as a consumer about that one...

Not to add to your issues, but I'm sure a major label would make you change the band name/album title. In fact I would just reverse it; call the band House of Sharks and the album Haleamano.

My only critique is the lens flare, that seems to be used as a sun? My instructor in colleg on PS, warned us about using them right from the start, essentially it's too generic of a photoshop element, to be used in anything you want to look 100% professional, it's something of a graphic design faux paux. If he removed that, it would make the whole look very commercial, (a good thing in this instance.)

edit- oh and maybe shrink the text just below the song titles, it has to be readable, but not quite that large, maybe make the font 1pt smaller and shrink the text by 20% or so.
