Musician Forum - Band Discussion Board - BandMix

As a "newbie" I can only make a statement based upon my limited experience in BandMix. I honestly think it's great to have someplace to find other experienced musicians having similar experience. Unfortunately my experience here is showing that in the Tampa Bay area in Florida, most of the musicians that I've attempted to contact haven't either replied or just haven't checked their messages. It's truly sad... perhaps a general posting of "Musicians Needed" might be in order. My task has been to find a group of musicians that want to work, want to express their talent and get paid for it... wow what a shame... I'm going to give it another couple of months of testing the waters and then I'll make my decision whether I'm wasting my time.

Seriously though things are pretty quiet on the net in general of late. Just keep plugging away.

I'm in Tampa, and I dont get any response either, my band was looking for a lead forever, before we stumbled up on one, locally, now we need a drummer, and the same song, no responses...the net will live on but social network sites are too flooded with bands and musicians trying to get noticed to be effective anymore, I use them to advertise our shows, but to actually get anyones attention you have to do it the old fashioned way of spreading word of mouth and performing your rear end off on stage.

I'm in the same boat as anyone else here. I remember spending hours sending out messages. I was sure someone would reply, but no dice.

Chippy, it's too bad you live so far away, cause I would love to knock around with you and see what we could come up with.

It took me months of daily searches and messaging to build our band.
It is the nature of the beast.
