OK - 5/0 red hook, with 1/16 oz., 3 1/2" minnow, 10lb spider wire, 6.5' pole, 90HP Yamaha, 17.5'Javelin, I lost 3 fish over 5lbs. They spit the hook out. I live on a lake.

Ah, I love lake fishing the best!
Enjoy the fruits of your efforts, Klugmo. I'm still jealous, though!
Thanks for the info.
5/0 red hook, eh? I've been using 4/0's. I think they may be too large.

It was sprinkling and gusty and overcast. My Buddy fishing with me was hung over. Water temp was 67. Fish caught in 8' water around docks.

Not much of a fisherman. I do enjoy it on occasion especially white bass on the river early spring.
Been hankering to take my canoe out early AM or late PM to give the docks a shot. Perhaps even a black jitterbug at night??
But it's been so blasted windy.
Wind + canoe = PIA
