I want to give my music another go. I was wondering has anyone out there have any ideas about getting a fast break in this industry? I heard TV and Film are the new thing, but doing that seems impossible.

Any help?

Put all you music on TuneCore.
It gets put on iTunes and a few other places.
Then wait and see if a million people buy some.

I though he was asking about basketball.

A fortune cookie I had recently stated.

Providence smiles on those in motion.

Or something there abouts.

Get busy and best wishes.

A fast break, eh? Well, nothings gonna happen overnight. The music industry is cut-throat....now more than ever. Try and get a publishing deal. Licensing music can make you a lot of money. Or you can do what Jennifer Lopez did and sleep with P Diddy or any other hip-hop/vodka mogul!!

Ah, Danny-me-boy-o! If we knew the answer to that, wouldn't we be doin' it?

1 ) Create a totally new sound.

2 ) Distribute it & advertise it.

3 ) Play lots of live shows & get a name for yourself.

4 ) Get a GOOD lawyer, agant, & mgmt.

5 ) Work your ass off.

6 ) Enjoy the good life.

I think that's basically the formula that's worked thus far, but I could be wrong, or maybe I missed something.

Fast Break

There are no shortcuts.

Just hard work, determination, passion and perseverance.

reminds me of the cape may music conference-

1) 40 people in a room

2) 6 industry professionals (producers, publishers, etc)

3) topic for seminar: Publishing & copyright law

4) Q&A: at LEAST 18 people raise hands and ask:
"what do I need to do to get signed by a major label?"

5) to 6 industry reps, there are now 18 of 40 people considered as un-signable. Not enough work ethic or intelligence to make it.

Sounds harsh, but there's no easy button, and anyone who walks up in a room full of people who are working their asses off, and expects instant recognition is seriously not going anywhere.
