Musician Forum - Band Discussion Board - BandMix

I have been looking for a band to join for 9 months. That is when we disolved Cruise Control. I was beginning to think my musical career was over. 2 months ago I auditioned for a band called Trial By Fire they are 1 of the top bands in the greater Houston area. They have a female singer that has an unbeivable voice. I thought after a couple of weeks that they had chosen someone else. Last Sunday they emailed me saying I was the only one they wanted to come back and do a second audition. So Thursday I went back and I frickin rocked man. they called me last night and gave me the position of Lead Guitarist. I am pretty stoked. I now have finally found a band that plays all the songs that I love. We are an 80's coverband. the base player will play rythem guitar on guitar songs, and the keytboard player will play base on those songs the keyboard player also plays sax and harmonica not many limitations with this band. YYYYEEEEAAAA!

I just got off the phone with the leader and WE are having a meeting tomorrow to discuss everyones goals to make sure we are on the same page. After talking I can tell he has the same exact idea's about where they want to go as I do.

Thanks Craig while typing this post I see you have a picture up. The guitar player is transitioning out to spend more time with his family. A very nice guy named Mark very supportive and I can tell they are going to be good freinds. They kind of caught me off guard last night I have wanted this so bad and finally the phone call that I have dreamed of. I will have to thank the man upstairs a lot for this I am also very humbled that out of all the bad ass guitar players in this huge city they picked me. Very Humbleing indeed.

I went to the meeting yesterday and these guys are very serious about what they do. They are always looking for ways to improve the show! They are all really nice people and welcomed my input with open arms.

Thanks you are a great bunch of guys and girls, I just wanted to share some good news with ya'll. I know how hard it is to find people that are as dedicated as we are. After a very long and depressing search I tried to stay focused that is the key. You guys that are still searching stay focused on what it is that you want. When the search seems the darkest, exactly what you are looking for could be right around the corner so stay focused on what it is that you want. Even though you are not in the band you want to be in prepare yourself for it just like you would a job. eventually it will happen.

So let it be written!
