Why do the ppl writing these article put the word "miracle" in quotes?

Seems to me that this is as miraculous as any other modern miracle.

As I understand it only God can perform miracles, and since there is some debate whether or not God exists, there would naturally be some question whether miracles occur, thus the quotes.

News reporters are a lot like Texans. Everything has to be biggest or smallest, prettiest or ugliest.
Everything is a freaking miracle or a tragedy.
The miracle is we keep listening to these jerk-offs.
