It might be the most accurate portrayal of what Jesus actually looked like, that is if you believe the Shroud of Turin is in fact that of Jesus. What was the most interesing aspect of the Shroud is the science behind what created the image. There is no existing scientific explanation of that creation. The only credible explanation is the actual resurrection of Jesus created just enough radiation to imprint that image which is only one or two MICROFIBERS thick on the cloth. I believe the image on the Shroud IS Jesus and a lot of scientists agree with that...
You also have to consider, the Bible says that Jesus was beaten so badly beyond recognition, that he didn't even look like a man anymore. The majority of his skin and flesh was torn off. So I don't see how you would be able to recognize ANYTHING in Jesus' real burial cloth. Also, the shroud has so few blood stains... If he was beaten the way the Bible says, that shroud should be covered in blood from top to bottom.
But hey, who cares? If it's real, it's real. If it's fake, it's fake. It doesn't make a single difference. I already have my proof of what Jesus did for us.
