Read an interesting article one time, as well as seen a documentary about the difficulty the producers had controlling the actors.
Seems many were recruited from carnivals, circus, and off the streets.
Hoodlums hookers ETC.
It has always been difficult for those whom are "different" to find gainful employment, was a short but rough crowd. Lots of fights and sex in small out of the way places.
