Sad to say, my 'puter died a horrible death yesterday.

I'm on a friend's at the moment.

My speakers quit working yesterday, so I rebooted. Now it just shows a big "e" & the keyboard does nothing.

Dunno how long it'll be before I'm back o/l, so I'll just say "bye, for now, & behave yourselves!"

If anyone needs me for anything (though I cannot for the life of me know why THAT would happen), ratsass has my #.

heh heh heh

So, I had a CD I just burned for a friend in my 'puter, & this afternoon, I started the thing up & took it out, & voila - it booted! I guess it was trying to read the CD like it was a startup disk or something...It's awful slow, though, since the wife started playing on FB...

I really need to get my Norton & Webroot back. They expired on me last month...

You can change the boot sequence on it if ya want.

Also, you can click - Start then Run, then type msconfig into the run box.
If you have a boatload of things that get loaded into yer taskbar, you can change that from there.

That little bar / area where your it shows the time.
If it has a bunch of little pictures all loaded up, you can change what automaically gets loaded in there.

Well, this thread sure took a turn for the ugly worse...*shiver*...a luddite is a guy who won't use anything more complicated than a hand tool...

PCMAG.com says "Definition of: Luddite

An individual who is against technological change. Luddite comes from Englishman Ned Lud, who rose up against his employer in the late 1700s. Subsequently, "Luddites" emerged in other companies to protest and even destroy new machinery that would put them out of a job. A neo-Luddite is a Luddite in the Internet age."

Anyway...I know - it's like I never left! :D

Maybe I should apply for work with the geek squad?
