fisherman bob & The Bluefin Tuna Band will be appearing at Tailgater's Bar & Grill THIS Friday April 2 from 9pm to 1am. Tailgater's is located at 79th & Frontage Rd in Merriam (or Overland Park?). Because of all the construction for the I-35/69 Hwy project, Frontage Road is closed right at Tailgater's doorstep. You can only get there from the north (take 75 St to Frontage Rd go south on past Walmart) or from the east (take 79th Street west from Antioch). PLEASE COME OUT AND SUPPORT A VENUE THAT IS WILLING TO TRY A BLUES BAND DURING THIS RECESSION AND CONSTRUCTION PERIOD! Harmonica great Dan Jones from Clear Ambition will be sitting in with the band. Although this is not a blues jam feel free to bring your instruments and we'll try and get you up to jam with us on a few tunes...

I don't know if it's a gay bar. Never went there other than getting my band booked. If it is a gay bar and we have a good paying gig and get asked back, I'll play there again. I think they chose the name Tailgater's because it's right next to Interstate 35 at a place where there's always bumper to bumper traffic, especially now that there's a huge construction project (thanks to stimulus money). I really don't care who we perform for as long as they leave us alone and enjoy the show and order a lot of drinks and food. I've never had anybody give me any sh*t for as long and as often as I've been gigging (almost 30 years). I'm sure that's included a few gay people...
