I'm always amazed at the shocked looks I get

when I mention that I've never owned a cell phone, and want to keep it that way. Am I the only person left without one?

I don't have one.
correction. I had one, then my wife took it over. I'm not altogether sure if it's because of the Tiger Woods incident, or that she just needed it for her work

Ah see, that doesn't count.

They are a pain in the arse sometimes but for many reasons I have to have one. I sometimes feel like I'm on a leash...

I didn't have a cell phone for a long, long time. But when I started getting into bands and playing more it became a necessity. It's just so much easier to manage things with a cell phone.

I have a prepaid but I get a bad rap because I won't carry it and I won't answer it.
I.e. it's rotting like bad meat in the console of my Jeep.
PS: I make the calls, don't even think of using my # unless I am expecting you to call. Better practice leaving a message. lol

Hate them.

People ask why I don't have a cell phone so they can contact me. I tell them that is the reason I don't have a cell phone. I don't want people to contact me. In fact, I often wish I didn't need a phone at all. But business prohibits that.

To each his own.
I cant imagine not having one these days, what with various business interests, two teenagers, and my musical pursuits. Im on the road a lot and would be cut off without one.
If you havent had one and dont need it more power to you. I dont even use my home phone anymore and the only reason I still have it is that its connected to my burglar/fire alarm.
I would say you are odd to not need one in this day and age.

LOL
Mostly when I am working I wear my watch. Comes in handy while checking vitals or running a code. Also when in the wood I'll carry a watch to coordinate my actions with that of others.
I have a cell phone but really don't use it much.
Our drummer does not. I'd like to buy him one for Christmas so it would be easier to stay in touch for schedule changes.

I guess a perfect world has many reasons to not exist... I didn't know that was one of them.

I held off for a long time, but as the telephone co's kept upping my rates & charging me for the "availability" of services they cannot or will not provide me, like DSL or FIOS, I said screw 'em, & went totally cellular.
I don't have to answer the damned thing just cuz it's ringing, & I often leave it in another room, so if you call me, expect to wait for 10-20 rings before I answer it. I turn it off in movie theaters & hospitals, & I don't answer calls from ppl who block thier numbers.
It's a convenience that I don't misuse by texting while I drive, & I don't use it in restarants, either. When ppl do that, there's this little imp in me that really wants one of those aerosol horns, so, as they start talking loudly in that restaurant, & pretend to be so important, I could just turn to them & give 'em a big loud blaring blast right in the earhole.
(I'd never actually DO that, but it's a fun thing to think about.)

I don't wear a watch either.
I have a good head clock really. I guess I hate them for a few of the above reasons but mainly because some people like to have them strapped to their cheeks while driving. I cannot count the times I've nearly been hit by someone busy nattering about something that can wait at a junction.
