I really enjoy coming here and talking to my BMIX mates, but I sometimes end up being away for extended periods...also, I tend to stick to the general chat-which isn't restricted to only music (sometimes it's hard to find a recent musical post-LOL!).

Anyway, I just wanted to catch up with y'all. As for me, my new CD is going well, and I think I've actually learned about vocal performance-usually my weak spot. I have a difficult time finding where the songwriter ends and the vocalist begins. At any rate, I go back in tomorrow to lay down bed tracks for another song, #11 of the set. I feel it's my best effort yet.

However, what I really want is to catch up with everybody, music-wise. I think it would be cool for everyone to give this kind of update. Any takers?

Hang ten Joe.
We are scheduled to do a 100+ pro photo shoot this Saturday.
We also have another scheduled studio session sooo maybe this time the boys will allow me to release the music to the public.
My BandMix friends will be the first to hear it !!

Not all is lost ... of course we will be singing about JESUS !!

Well, our originals band, Audian, has been playing shows pretty regular. We played a show last Saturday but not many people showed up. So it was one of those deals where we're playing for the other bands there. But we rocked it. We have another show Friday and we entered for the WSU Battle of the Bands...

My cover band has a gig Friday as well, in the afternoon, but it sounds like it's going to be a clusterf*ck. Still, we're going to play it. It's a show and we want to play.

Colors

The last show I was worried about being a CF turned out to be one of the coolest we've played.

Just play and have fun man !!

That's what we do Sans.

I just got done with band practice for my cover band that has the show I'm worried about, and holy crap did we rock tonight. My vocalist sounded the best I've ever heard her (and she's a seasoned pro man; she's been doing this for years). If we do that Friday, and I think we will, then who cares? We're going to rock for us.

Same thing with Audian. We play for ourselves. If people show, great.

I love playing out man... I can't believe I waited 15+ years to get serious about music and start doing this. I should have been doing this at 20 years old. This is so much fun. I'm never going back. I'll be in a band until they bury me now.

Awesome Colors!

That's what I like to hear!

I never thought I was good enough when I was younger. So, I played at it, and then gave it up for a number of years at a time, only to take it back up again, because it was just... in my blood!

I wish I had ONLY done this all my life.

But I'm still not giving up, even now, at my age.

Sans, I'm glad to hear that you guys are tearing it up...I know you were talking about hitting a few speedbumps, but that's normal. Never let them become roadblocks.

Colors, dude, you sound like me! I drive myself crazy trying to get ready for a show. Sounds like you are playing a lot, though. That great!

Musical update - the last practice, while it showed that the guitarist still knows most of the material, did have a flaw, & that flaw was me. I've been rather drugged up with t 3's & flexies, & I was often starting the songs too slow, they told me. (I usually start off quite a few of our songs)

Monday, we were supposed to try again, but the guitarist begged off, claiming his mother was ill. Bad sign there!

Just as well, cuz I am not really in any better shape, so we'll try for next Monday.

I want to have us up & runmimg by the end of the month, & I don't think this is an unfair expectation.

Let's see if the guitarist learns that one new song by Monday. If he doesn't, that will tell me what I need to know...

I know what you mean, Phil. We've had a little bit of sun the last two days, and it's helped. Physically, I've been about 75%, but psychologically, this winter has really been taking its toll on me.
I hope your guitarist gets his act together...especially since you've already given him a few chances.

*sigh*

So Eddie (the guitarist) said he couldn't make it on Monday, but could on Tues. I set things up for the wife to leave work early to pick up Jace, cuz Dddonnie said he would set it up.

But then Eddie didn't return Dddonnie's calls & messages on his cell, so I had to deal with the wife wanting to know what's going on with the flake, & griping that she had to leave work & stuff.

I think I'm about done with this band, at the moment. We haven't found anyone to play lead, & Eddie the flake is still playing his flakey games.

I'm just gonna say that I'm a free agent at this point, & look elsewhere rather than mess around with the same old.

It's disappointing, to be sure, but I had my serious doubts. Who knows - they may keep him & replace me & be very happy. I just find it hard to care right now.

I have a solo gig tonight, & I suppose that that's where I"ll be putting forth my efforts for the foreseeable future.
