Good! deporting the illegals should be one of his top priorities IMO because it will open up new jobs for Americans or the folks that respect and obey our laws and come here legally. Also less money spent on welfare programs for them.
What I don't understand about all these illegals coming here and demanding rights. WHY DON'T YOU PROTEST IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY AND FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS THERE where you are entitled to them! :x

Ditto.

It really pissed me off when I had to go to the social security office. There were 4 signs in Spanish, one in English. In the welfare building next to it 6 signs in Spanish, telling them how to get assistance, how to work the system in every way.
Even how to get small part time jobs and still get assistance.

My friend works at a liqueur store. Some woman came in with SD, IA, and Ne checks to be cashed. She is working the tri state area and collecting three assistance checks with three ID's.

A lady at the bread store down the street says some of her Spanish customers come in with over $1,000.00 per month food stamps. You see them with carts over flowing with twinkies and other junk food. And then the government wants to tell us what we should eat. Even trying to tax high calorie foods to protect us. From what? Having anything left in out wallets to spend, I imagine. There is no reason for an illegal to work anymore.

It's like I hear about this crap all the time. Maybe it's just to p1ss me off. I can't think of any other reason that I hear about it so much.

The politicians allowing this are no less than traitors selling off the futures of our children for votes. It is my personal opinion that they should be treated as such.

I am not a hardass concerning illegals. I just want a fair trade understanding.

Anyone not a born as a Mexican citizen falls under this Mexican legislation.

You go to jail if you get caught there illegally For however long they wish.

You are not allowed to work at a high paying Mexican job, only jobs Mexicans don't want ...
Sound familiar? That's the line of bullshit our little Hitlers give to us. "They're only working the jobs that out of work Americans who are losing their homes don't want to work."

You can never own property in Mexico.

Your kids are not Mexican citizens if born there.

By the way, do you know that under the constitution, children born in America by illegal parents ARE NOT AMERICAN CITIZENS?

You do not get any assistance such as Mexican aid, in any form.

Lets us have it that way in America.

To do that we need not pass a single new word of legislation. We just need those corrupt bastards ruling this country like Nazis to obey their own legislation is already on the books.

This country will be 1/3 Hispanic in a very few years. It's probably too late for you, but you should teach your children that we are living in a melting pot, and that white English-speaking dominance is a thing of the past.

Which makes a good case for learning Spanish as a SECOND language, but does NOT make a case for making Spanish our PRIMARY language, or creating an environment where the legal system functions through Spanish.

The statement you just made is the perfect illustration of how otherwise intelligent liberals, suddenly lose their minds, at a moment's notice, where philosophical meanderings or political bias enter in.

The only way that English will not dominate the world's languages in trade, science, commerce and international relations, is if China suddenly takes over the world by force, and institutes a Mandarin-Only policy.

Mandarin is spoken by more people in the world (by double) than any other language, but that is only because 1 Billion people speak it, primarily in CHINA! The world's most populous country also has the world's most spoken language (No surprise there). But again, it is primarily spoken in CHINA, and is not the WORLD'S most "common" language, WORLDWIDE... a language that is used to communicate INTERNATIONALLY!

That language?

English, of course.

English is the SECOND most spoken language in the world, with more than half a billion people speaking it.

Third?

Another situation similar to China. It is HINDU. Why? Well, like China, one of the world's most populous countries is INDIA, so it is natural that HINDU would be among the top spoken languages, by POPULATION. But is Hindu used as an INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE any more than Chinese?

Of course not.

Fourth? Now, FINALLY, we get to Spanish!

Fifth is RUSSIAN, and sixth is ARABIC.

Pretty much any country with a good educational system, is teaching their students ENGLISH, so they can compete in the world, whether in business or politically.

So again, here is a situation where the "intelligence" of liberals, would undermine SIMPLE COMMON SENSE!

"We better not make English an official language of our country, that would be biased, and besides... the population is ever increasing with people of Latino decent, so I know... let's work hard to have more people speaking Spanish than English, or better yet, have all road signs and the like, be in the language predominate to the immigrants of that area... Little China? Put up signs in Mandarin.... Little Italy? Put up signs in Italian!!! This is gonna be GREAT, and perfectly PC, and sympathetic to each population here of international decent! WE ARE GENIUSES!!!! Oh, and we have a heart too!!!!"

Meanwhile, the rest of the world is teaching their students ENGLISH, so that if the liberal methodology would prevail.... The world will eventually teach more English, than America! They'll be doing business INTERNATIONALLY, while we are competently doing deals with Latin America primarily.

Oh, and btw....

English may not be OUR official language, thanks to idiot politicians (generally liberals) blocking such efforts, but English "IS" the official language in THESE COUNTRIES and TERRITORIES:

Craig, the official language of Malta is, ironically enough, Maltese, with English being a "co-official" language. If you go to Malta you'll have a tough time if you only speak English. I'm sure it's the same with the majority of countries on your list.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maltese_language

In the the future U.S., you will need to know some Spanish and Arabic (and eventually Chinese) as well as English. You'll be long gone so don't worry about it.

Sure, but what is upsetting to me personally, is that English is overwhelmingly the primary language of the U.S. from founding all the way through to today, and yet MALTA and PAPUA NEW GUINEA, among so many others can declare English to be THEIR OFFICIAL LANGUAGE, and somehow we can't find the political will to do the same?

The majority of those on that list, were likely British colonies at one time or another, which is how the language first got entrenched into these places in the beginning, but even still... they seem to recognize the value of legitimizing a COMMON LANGUAGE, by making it OFFICIAL.

This is not about racism, or cultural elitism Jimmy.

It is about SURVIVING and THRIVING as a nation, into the future.

A nation divided by language, is not cohesive, and much more time gets spent on translations, or internal dialogue, than on INTERNATIONAL dialogue, from a position of a STRONG, COHESIVE and UNITED people.

Look at the divisions and political infighting that occur, even just in our neighbor to the north... Canada. Who it seems, every few years, is at odds over the French language and culture in Quebec.

Does that really STRENGTHEN and UNITE a nation?

We aren't OUTLAWING other languages, merely OFFICIATING our primary language, to help preserve it, and keep us united, at least in the sense of language, if nothing else.

If I am not mistaken, it is EMIGRANTS to our country, who are MOST in favor of making English the official language here.

How pathetic is that?

Yeah right.

Only if the ultra-libs succeed in destroying our country, or minimizing it, into a colony of a Marxist nation.

I really don't understand your reasoning, unless you have already determined that America will deteriorate into meaninglessness where world affairs and commerce are concerned?

Why can't you make it... "Our isolationist tendencies are not well served in a modern global economy, and we would be better served, if the educational system in America, made it more of a priority to teach our children a second or third language."

Why does it have to be a defeatist attitude of inevitable irrelevance you see for us?

The world is learning MORE ENGLISH, not less.

Because dear Craig, we're already flucked. Other countries are producing smarter children while ours sit around playing video games and texting each other gibberish. Kids do not read, or even play outside and use their imagination. And it's mostly our fault. We have lost our edge; we used to be the leaders of technological innovation. The Chinese and Arabs are slowly buying us; there won't be a need for a war, they will just own us. Like I said, we won't be around, but try to prepare your children if you love them.

I certainly can agree on some of those points, but even on the ones I agree, there are OTHER, probably more important factors at work.

I have noticed as well, that playing video games, constant high speed images in our entertainment, etc... Are making kids lazy, where imagination is concerned! Driving in the car, I "invent" games for my kids to play... I've done this dozens upon dozens of times... always new games with different rules. They consider me the best game maker, they've ever seen. LOL

And these games, are often the result of their statement... "I'm bored. There's nothing to do!"

Sometimes I tell them "Bored huh? I'll find you something to do!" (chores) LOL - But often, I tell them that if they use their imagination, they could find HUNDREDS of things to do.

BUT THERE ARE FAR MORE SERIOUS PROBLEMS:

Liberal teacher's unions, and a MONOPOLISTIC public school system.

I'd suggest that we invest more in education financially, but that is NOT the problem. Since the 70's, spending on education PER PUPIL has DOUBLED! With no noticeable improvement in education or testing scores.

Schools are becoming liberal cesspools, of political recruitment and indoctrination, rather than pinnacles of educational excellence.

Outcome based education (there are no winners and losers, no bad scores) are SUFFOCATING a system for measuring tangible results.

The Democrat's opposition to charter schools, and private/public cooperatives, like school vouchers, are DENYING parents a CHOICE, so they could find the best schools and teachers, and encourage competition among schools, to help those with lowered roles, to make needed changes, to attract students back to their schools.

Teacher's unions operating on seniority, are PROTECTING BAD TEACHERS and ensuring their jobs, REGARDLESS of their performance levels.

Change THESE things first, and you will see SMARTER American kids, with the necessary education to compete in the world, and remain technological leaders.

They make better education available for those who can afford it, & do nothing to improve the public school system.

Ones heritage is no excuse for being either too lazy or too stupid to learn English.

Not my words, but a paraphrase of my blessed Grandmother who came to America form war torn Europe legally and learned English because she had a deep respect and love for opportunity.
