My old band

This is 2/3 of my old Sat afternoon Jam session band that I hosted for eight years. We're just missing our old drummer. He decided to be a bass man and gave up the drums. Eight years makes a lot of jam sessions, but we managed to get a real variety of pickers involved so it wasn't a bad gig, other than going to the Sat night gig a couple of hours later.

Austin, my Bass player / singer came over one day and heard some of my DAW work and wanted to record something for his kids that we used to play. I wanted to try it in a blues fashion so we gave it a shot. That gave me a chance to get pretty creative on the instrumental. Austin did good! :)
Austins kids are also musicians, two lead guitar players, and a drummer. Wouldn't that be a gas to have 4 musicians in your family?

Here is an old R&R tune we used to perform. The whole thing was recorded through a Peavey 600 PA amp. Hope you find it interesting.

Philby,

Thank you for listening and responding. Yeah, it was a fun jam. We had fun doing it and fun listening to it. And his kids have something to show their friends.... that their dad was a pretty good musician. :)

One of his kids is into Rockabilly. He even dresses the part. It looks like he came right out of the 50's. The other into hard rock. But all his kids are pretty open to all types of music.

Glen,

Thank you for listening and commenting. I agree, It is a blast to get together and do something with your friends no matter how old you get. And it is even more fun when you can record it with out tons of tape hiss and other artifacts in the music. When I found that you could record to a computer with CD quality or better I couldn't believe my ears.

That alone should inspire every musician to get their music down while they can still play. Even if they have to do it all by themselves.
