yeah ive only played guitar for about 6 months, so i was hoping to start a garage band type thing just to get together with other musicians and learn from each other. do many other people get into this type of starting a band just for fun or are most people here pretty serious about it?

Absolutely and also NO!

What I mean is. . .it is how everyone started, its just that once they have their talent in place they are no longer interested at staying in a garage, they want to get out and get with musicians of their equal or better so they can grow.

I say have fun, grab some cats that are like you and just starting out and see where it goes from there. 13 drummers, 6 bass players, and a couple of managers from that point you may actually start having real success in your area or nationally.

Its all on you and HOW many things you let side tract you.

ITS ALL ON YOU!

Good luck brother. Hope it works out for ya.
