Faust was a musical written by Randy Newman. Anyone ever hear of it? James Taylor played god, Randy Newman played the devil, Don Henley was Faust, & also included in this amazing cast were Linda Randstat, Bonnie Raitt & Elton John.

It blows my mind how few ppl ever even heard of this thing. The music was, at times, truly awesome, the lyrics were deep as deep can be.

Here's God's song, from the play - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEKuGcmW ... re=related

What a wild lyric! "That's why I love mankind"

Rather odd, yet some haunting truth eh.

Yeah, somehow I couldn't find James Taylor's version, but it's still a powerful piece, even with Randy's kinda funny "1920's black blues singer on heroin" voice, with its odd pronunciations, strange enunciations, & lazy gravel.
