Looking to start a Death Metal band in New Jersey

Hey, im obviously new here but thats beside the point... I'm trying to start up a pure 100% Death Metal band. I've actually been looking for a few years now, but have found absolutely nothing yet...

Most of the bands that form where I'm from are the usual "emo/screamo", "metal-core", or just plain "hardcore". There are rarely (though there are some) true Death Metal bands around here that don't have some kind of second hand genre attatched to it.. for example, the all of a sudden ever so popular "death core"/"death groove"...(I personally think all of it is terrible)

I don't play any instruments, I actually plan on doing vocals which only makes it harder for musicians to take me seriously. Death Metal isn't always "understood" by everyone which causes it to be taken as a joke, but I take it EXTREMELY serious and would really like to be apart of a band that really stands apart from the rest of the newer sh*t that's been coming out.

Mainly I would like to find a drummer more than anything, but I would like ANYONE who's interested to please email me or simply post a reply here on the forum. I also have recordings of some of my vocals (just a small variety of vocals, pretty good quality recordings).

My main influences come anywhere from IMMOLATION, Deeds of Flesh, Malevolent Creation, early Suffocation, Morbid angel, just to name a hand full.

Good luck I played death metal for years..the problem is alot of People start off playing death metal and after 5 6 years it gets boring and it all starts to sound the same.. I looked for years to find other people to play with.. End result is no one is ever committed..Best luck to you and your search for reliable people..

Same here, I played it for about 5 years and grew tired of the attitudes and various other things. Finding other musicians has been a problem no matter what I do though. lol

I feel for ya bro.

So far i got a bassist for my band, but finding a drummer and lead vocalist/lead guitarist for metal is almost impossible speially in a hole-in-the- wall town where i live.So I upgrade my ad and bounced my ad in local zines.I wish ya the best for your search!
