TSA must continue to watch out for ‘clowns’

Watch out for the clowns!

Let's think about this for a second. Imagine that, during your normal work commute, you are walking on a busy city sidewalk. One day, as you're walking along, you notice a guy in a clown suit coming toward you. As he's passing you, he turns around and kicks you in the butt, then he runs away.

A few days later, you notice another clown coming toward you, and (you can't) believe it! As he passes you, he kicks you in the butt and runs away. This happens on a few more daily commutes, each time it's a clown, sometimes with big feet, sometimes with red hair, but it's always a clown.

So how do you handle this? Do you start keeping a really careful eye on old ladies coming toward you? How about men dressed as cowboys? Although the answer seems obvious, it hasn't been to the Transportation Security Administration.

Until the recent "underwear" bomber, political correctness and special interest lobbyists have kept TSA (staff) from "profiling." They were giving nearly equal attention to old ladies, cowboys and clowns.

When we look at "airplane terrorists," we find these common elements: one-way tickets, (tickets) paid for with cash, recent travel to Muslim countries, males between the ages of 20 to 30, (those with a ) Middle-Eastern appearance and often (those with) Muslim names. This describes the 911 suicide terrorists and the recent "underwear" bomber.

With this last incident, TSA has issued new guidelines to at least pat down people who are traveling from a list of 14 terrorist-associated countries. This has unleashed a storm of protests from certain politicians and special interest groups.

Despite these protests, TSA needs to continue this trend. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of getting our butt kicked. Sure, we need to keep a eye on old ladies and cowboys, but let's be smart.

Until they change their profile, let's watch out for the clowns. This will not solve this problem, but at least it will force our enemies to change tactics. When they do, we'll need to change also. In this crucial security area, I hope we can change in a smart fashion, not a political one.

Remember, voters, you get the government that you deserve. Call and write your representative in Congress; demand that we start being smarter.

I have a better idea. Lets put 30 rednecks from Texas and Louisiana on every plane - with shotguns.

Um, hello.... political correctness has superseded common sense from the very beginning. I believe that was it's intention.

yeah but when you apply common sense to the token lazy black guy at your job.. you get called a racist.

But it's still just fine to make a reference to the rednecks.

I don't see the difference, but that's just silly common sense kicking my azz.
