I posted an ad on craigslist as a studio vocalist for hire. I got 2 responses the first day.

First I'd like some feedback on the ad. Second I'd like some advice on an hourly rate. I already have one in mind. Keep in mind Roanoke is not a music town.

You've got a good strong voice, glad that you didn't turn out to have that cliche sound I hear with so many singers that sound like they're still in choir in high school or a Christian college then are like "DAMN I can sing!".

Much like myself though, you're just not in the right place for music.

I did not take the time to listen to your examples Paul.
But then I have heard you from about ten feet so I did not feel it was at all necessary.
The lay out of your add was very professional. Though I have my doubts if that many examples are necessary.
Remember my friend too many choices can put people off.
As far as rate goes you, need to consider the projects.
If it's a B project such as a demo CD perhaps an hourly rate in the $20-$25 range, plus mileage would be appropriate.
If you get hooked up on an A+ project that will be copy-written and distributed. Your talent is worth more than that IMO.

I would think 20-25 an hour would be a starting point.
