Do You Ever Talk To Yourself?

I do all the time. Sometimes I even use funny voices. And I answer in other voices.

And a lot of the time It appears that I'm talking to myself on the musician forums as well.

I usually find what those voices have to say humorous. Especially when it is one of the silly sarcastic voices that come up right after I've done something incredibly stupid. 8)

Do I talk to myself?

I dunno. do I?

I should think about this.

Should I spend all that time thinking about it?

I dunno.

Maybe I'll think about it later.

Sometimes I think I should think about more important stuff, but I get caught up in the trivial.

No I don't!

Yes, I DO.

Well, it isn't important anyway.

But sometimes it IS important, if it's complicating my life.

Is it?

I dunno, I'll get back to me later...

No I won't. I just know I'll forget.

Well, if I'd think just a moment to remind myself, then I'd remember, wouldn't I?

Damn I'm such a nag!

Answer: Yes.

I verbalize the conversations in my head. It happens.

Reminds me of a Laurel & Hardy film where Oliver gets a Dear John letter from his fiancee and can't find his glasses. He has Stan read the letter to him and starts crying when he finds out his fiancee is no longer his fiancee. Stan asks Oliver why he's crying and Oliver asks Stan "Didn't you just read the letter?" Stan says "Yes, but I wasn't listening..."
