Nasal vocal problem

Ok here's the deal. I fought 16 skinheads outside a nightclub when I was about 17 I think? got a couple before one did a flying kick at my face which landed breaking my nose. I did manage to grab and fling him onto the hood of a parked car as I was running. They got me though, didn't go down however

Anyway.....

That break cost me a few things later on. Now I am very nasal and of course with lyrics on the horizon I need to find a way of at least stopping congestion while doing that guide vocalism thingy. :D

Got any ideas for the chipmonster?

Chip, Ive had my nose broken quite a few times. Theres these things called Z-Cam that I get. Its like a q tip with some medication on it and you coat the inside of your nose and then sqeeze for a few seconds. Those things loosen me up. They are for allergies, but if i feel any congestion coming on they work for me. They make pills but Ive never tryed them. You might look into those. I get a lot of congestion in my head form how messed up the inside of my nose is and my doctor has told me there are operations, but I havent gone that route yet. Heck those ole Vicks Inhalers would open me up pretty good. I used to keep one of those in my guitar case.

CHIP, I have a lot of experience with throat problems. Take my advise. Buy some cough drops called Fishermans Friend. They will open you up if you keep your mouth closed and suck on them for a while. Next it sounds like you have a deviated septum. See a ENT so he can fix your nose. This means operation, not too bad though. Next question, do you have sleep apnea? If so see ENT.

Fishermens!
I haven't heard of those in ages. Yeah that makes sense too Kluggy. Thanks for the input people.

I'll second the Fisherman's Friend, they taste horrible but do open you up and the best cough drops I've ever tried. Natural too.

I've had bad sinuses since I was a kid, don't remember ever being able to breathe through both sides at once. One or the other is stopped up literally every day. Nothing I've ever found will work, and I've tried everything from Coricidin and Dristan to snorting kerosene. OK, kidding about the kerosene...

Anyway, Fisherman's Friend does do a pretty good job, only reason I don't use them all the time is they taste bad enough I only suffer through them when I have the flu and want to slow down the cough.
