Why is Ron Paul NOT the U.S. president???

Englishman here just innocently wondering why the seemingly greatest man in politics is not now the president of the United States. Answers below :)

Cuz common sense has NO place in American politics. There are very strict party policies to go by, which all revolve around the particular party's favorite commercial investors.

Okay, how about Paul Simon? Larry David? Hell, Michael Jackson, cuz I've seen Jackson as a 1st name.
