I have a Beautiful Black PRS Custom 24, i love it, however, i recently discovered the awesome thing that is thicker strings!!!! no really, i've been playing 23 yrs and have ALWAYS used 9's, without question, recently bought a set of Power Slinky's ( 11 - 48 ) and they sound great, feel better etc etc... BUT! i'm getting disasterous binding at the nut making tuning IMPOSSIBLE!!! surely i shouldn't have to have the nut replaced on my gorgeous axe for such a small string guage increase???? SUCKS!! :(

Do you think it's something a Luthier can fix for a minimum charge?

I would have tried 10's first before changing the nut; the extra tonality of using 11's is minimal. I have used 10's on my guitars for many years, I don't want anything lighter or heavier.

I checked out some PRS forums and they have threads on how to change them yourself.
