Like I've said before I tend to write in a comercial structure.
There are many imperfections but they are demos. The critique is on.

Well, just remember - you asked for this!

"Here At Home" - Nice lil tune, Klugmo. Your voice reminds me of Gordon Lightfoot on this one, cuz it's very sweet. Good lyrics, & I am glad you didn't junk it up with Xmas bells & such. This is good.

"I Am" - Another good one. The lyrics are quite conversational in tone, which is nice. I like the "ah's" in the background, too. The guitar is too close in style to "Here At Home" to list these back to back, imo.

"Already Gone" - the 'lectric is a nice change. You should sing this "dirtier" imho.

"Om Judgement Day" - The changes at :42 surprized me, but it's all good. Yeah, this is very commercial sounding stuff, & there ain't nothin' wrong with that. Nice production. I like the fiddle in this, believe it or not.

"My Purple Truck Rules" - Who's playing this stuff for you? They're good! I dunno about this one, esp lyrically, but it's bound to be popular with many ppl.

"Sidewinder" - Good overall sound, but the lyric hits me as being awkward, for some reason, like you're trying too hard to make the theme fit. You have a really good sound, man.

All in all, you have some very nice tunes here in this lil collection, Klugmo. All that's missing is a pedal steel (& it WOULD fit in a cpl of these). You have some good players on these, from the sound of it all. Do you do all your own arrangements & productions? Whatever you're doing, & however you're doing it, keep doing it. It's working for you.

I cant sing dirty. Believe me I've tried. There's a reason I write and sing mostly Country Love songs. It's my niche.

Loved em. Great sound overall, and I heard a lot of John Denver in your slower songs - I grew up on John Denver, and loved him, so don't take that as an offense!

Thanks for posting!

I think you have a pretty decent sound Kluggy. Sounds like you have two singers or did someone guest on a few? Anyway I like some country here and there, I'm possibly not the best to comment really but you do have some neat ideas and your songs come across very well, nicely performed man.

Thanks, vocals are all me. The last two are simple 4track idea tapes I made. I may get them in the studio at a later point. I have learned that I could use a vocal coach in studio because of some bad tendencies I have with phraseing and what I call vocal acrobatics.

My guitar player is a Danny Gatton protege, I think you can hear that.

Hey Paul, Let me know when you put your music out for sale I and one hell of a lot of other folks down here in Texas Will buy this awesome music up, Yeah!

The first song reminds me of Neon Moon it has that tropical beat.
At times your voice reminds me of one of my all time Favs. Hughie Thomason from the Outlaws.

MORE PLEASE  :D

Hey brother,

Pretty decent demos there!

I had my wife listen to them too, since she is the big country music fan of the family. She said that she felt the songwriting was pretty good, but that you needed to work on vocal control. On the sustained notes, and especially the high notes, she said they seemed to high for you sometimes, and she was wanting you to send it out of the park, and was disappointed when that didn't happen.

On your own bio, you mention that you have a tendency to put things in too high a key.... STOP DOING IT! LOL

Cause my wife LOVES country, and if she says that is a problem, rest assured, many others will as well.

You and I are older guys.

Neither one of us has the luxury of "almost" blowing people's socks off. We have to hit it out of the park... every time!

I listened to many of them myself, and I think you are a pretty good singer. And there is something endearing about your voice, but that doesn't replace needing to really nail the notes that are supposed to be high, and the ones that are supposed to be strong. The fans know what they have been given before.... you are being measured against that. When they EXPECT the highs on a certain song to give them chills... they need to get those chills.

Work on using your diaphragm better, and put some of the troubled songs, within your comfortable range.

Just our 2 cents. :-)

You and wife are exactly right. I am smart enough to know my faults and need to work on that aspect of my vocals. Takes time and training though. Thank you for insight.

Another post asks whats going on with this site or forum? It's my opinion that exactly what is saposed to happen in a good forum is happening. People are conversing, disagreeing, argueing, having fun learning, venting, consoleing, bickering, being impressed, being phony, being informative and many other things. In my case I am learning how to spell. Yesterday I learned how to spell "Buzzily". I also learned how to look past another humans worst tendancies. This is an excellent site and would recomend it to anyone with thick skin and an ear for music.
