I love change. Facial hair is fun. I rarely keep a facial-do for more than a month. I love inventing new ones. After 20 years though it's hard to come up with a new one. I did it again though! I use to wear a regular handlebar mustache in my 20's but this is a motorcycle mustache plus handlebars plus the bottom half of a goatee.

Come on Paul, you aren't old enough to get away with grey as a performer.

It doesn't suit you.

Time to break out the Grecian Formula?

NAH!

My beard is so grey it's WHITE!

I used to "rearrange my face" every so often too, Paul. Have fun with your bad self! Keeps things interesting!

He doesn't look that old though..

Show your grey in 20 years.. If you don't look the part, don't accept it.

Now if you were completely grey and looked the part, it's better to embrace that. But since you don't, I say don't give in to that just yet..

Well I started going gray at 16!! The ladies loved the white stripe in my hair when I was in my twenties. Image
I've been gray in the goat for a few years. I colored it for a month or two last year. What a pain!! Image
Plus I felt kinda cheesy about coloring it.

Go with the Freddy Mercury look. Eye-liner and mascara. Wear white to highlight it and stage lights should do the rest? Eyelashes are long so you'll be good in prep.

I gaped up my mustache one day last month and shaved it off.
My wife would not stop giggling.
My co workers thought I was sick.
And the young woman at the Wal Mart where I get my fuel and cigars said I looked "weird".
I have since grown it back.
When my daughters were little I shaved it off. When I walked into the living room they screamed and ran outside.

Oh Lord, let's hope this thread stays facial.. I'm anticipating an unexpected turn when it goes off topic.

I have not shaved off my mustache since I first started growing it (in first grade!) In my late teens and early twenties I had various length beards, at one time a HUGE beard almost down to my belly button. One gal at that time thought I looked like Jesus and was stalking me. I haven't had a beard since then. My mustache has been almost a handle bar. I never waxed it. Thought about it but never did. Right now my hair is a little shorter and my sideburns are growing longer. You should see my son. He's covered with hair head to toe. His stubble is so thick it's like shaving with sandpaper. We got tired of shaving him twice a day and just let his beard grow. Women love my son, too bad he's autistic, he'd be married by now I'm sure...

I've had the current incarnation of beard since about 1980, decided to shave it off one day and a friend I had known for 3 years didn't recognize me. He opened the door and said "Yes sir, can I help you?" I looked at him a couple of seconds and said "Tom!" He just about fainted...I grew it back and never shaved it again.

Had a nice ZZ Top myself a few years before that, almost as long as the one Billy Gibbons sports now, but got tired of it and started to trim it again. Now I usually keep it about the same as in the new year's eve gig pics. Tried a goatee in the 70's, it was ok but went back to a full beard.

Like George, when I shaved mine once while helping my sister raise 2 daughters, they were scared of me for a day or two and wouldn't have anything to do with me till I grew it back, once it was back I was their best buddy again.

EDIT:

By the way Paul, I think the new style looks pretty cool, keep the grey it's you. I've never even thought about coloring my grey out, if that's the way it grows, that's the way it stays.

I prefer shaved slick!

Dont know why.

I grew my hair back a couple of weeks ago and didnt even recognize myself in the mirror in the morning so I went back slick.

Paul the new doo looks good on you

I shaved a couple of times years ago. Facial hair gives you something to hide behind. Kinda like peeking through bushes when have to talk to the drunks at gigs.
If that makes any sense at all.
