What part of 'general chat' don't you understand? Music is about much more than how many chords you know or how many crappy songs you've copywritten.

The general chat I assume is a chat by musicians about general topics, which may or may not be musically related...

NO! This is NOT ACCEPTABLE!!

If you are a real musician all you should ever need to discuss is music. If you can't say something musical, don't say anything at all!

How dare you call yourselves musicians and then talk about politics?!?!?

(Sorry, I just got through with a minor rant in an e-mail about "serious" musicians and I couldn't help myself. For anyone who might be sarcasm impaired, I apologize for the inconvenience.)

If you post a non musical topic on Bands and Albums, Tour Talk etc. I can see you getting pissed off.

I feel ya bro. I really do. I enjoy the NMC (non musical chatter)
But frankly I'd like to see more musical stuff as well.
I don't have anything special to say musically right now.
I am sure you guys get tired of my going on about some gig thats a month away or bla bla bla about our struggle to pull it together for the studio.

I will promise you this much though.
Soon as I have new music or pictures I can post.

Actually this was a great place once. (Forum). Now it's a place of disgruntled people who often times say things they don't mean, (But some do yet).

Everyone has a choice. I've made mine. I'll post what I have when I've completed it, (Lacking Vox due to funds). Anyway. Afterwards, and thereon, after said cormorants have had their pickings maybe? Today I was going to complete a very light hearted thing for here and other places but I don't need no bold type.

Indeed a journey it was. Full of wretched levels, courteous comment, lament, even hatred at times. But times is times and the clock ticks, so it does.

I'm an experimental person with music.

I had taken a break. And guess what?

Before Ratsass got here (when I was on break) there were people who did nothing but flame one another. EVERY OTHER THREAD! In fact, our own Capt. was one of them. You should have seen the way he put people down, even women, for every damn thing you can imagine... going for the jugular like a wildcat!

He would tell people their music sucked and they sucked too!

They would tell him the same sh*t back.

THEY NEVER GOT TIRED OF IT!

Like hemorrhoids, he still flares up once in a while. He and John went at it just awhile back, threatening to kick each other's asses (all online, as usual)

I poured my heart out to the Capt way back then, about his abrasiveness, and I can't know, but I'd like to think it helped calm him down a little, cause he did calm down for a long while, But he's his own man, so only he knows why he had a little change of heart. Regardless, he's part of the community, and we all dealt with it fine, either way.

Forums are what they are.

If you think that heated discussions on forums are something unusual, then you have not been on the Internet long. Because that is NORMAL where there are regular, active participants.

This place is WAY MILD where that stuff is concerned. Which is cool, and part of the reason I like it... not to mention that I have known some of these people for 3 or 4 years now.

But the statement...

"THIS USED TO BE A NICE PLACE"

There is no such thing as "used to be" because before YOUR "used to be" (when you got here) it "used to be" something else... and before that, it "used to be" something else again.

It is a forum, like all forums, where some people come and go, and where others are old timers who have been around for ALL the coming and going.

What makes this NOT a nice place?

I try to be nice to people as much as possible.

Don't you?

We all forgive each other when we flub up once in awhile.

But, believe it or not... IT IS possible to have serious heated conversations on one thread, and then flip threads and joke about tits with Crip!

Is it supposed to be "tits only"?

If the subject matter bothers you personally, why does that mean EVERYONE ELSE has to stop talking about them?

Much betterer . Music is cumulitive expression of life. It doesn't stop when you put your instrument down.

Chippy , I think you , such as so many other Americans dont get it. We do care and we do care deeply. [ china has offered 4.4 million,we have allready pledged 100 million, and I have allready given , to help with this Haitian disaster]

When I say you Chippy, I think you,,,,,Please dont get pissed off, because sometimes this forum just lets us blow off some steam. That is part of life ,and I dont feel like wasting my life writing a bunch of political songs.
If I get really p. off Then I will start writing political music..
