The song “We the People” mainly focuses on the health-care reform bill and in his own distinct musical style, the veteran singer highlights the growing frustration of the people against the bill that has been passed by both houses of Congress. Although the song has comical connotations, it comes across as a warning to the congress members and implies that the Americans have awakened to the tricks that are undertaken to fool the public. Moreover, the song also goes on to say that the public would vote out politicians who express their support for the heath-care reform bill.
