RIP Jay Reatard
Posted: Thu Jan 14, 2010 2:15 pmA local musician Jay Reatard was found dead this morning in Memphis. Jay played what I would call punk rock music with intensity. I saw him once, cant say it was my cup of tea, but he had the fire and energy I love to see in players.
He had gotten some good coverage at South By SOuthwest last year, had toured all over the place and had some coverage in Rolling Stone as an up and comer. I understand he had a very good album out.
He was 29 yrs old.
