So in addition to getting my head wrapped around protools, I've also started working with a vocalist for some songs that aren't necessarily in the vein of Drowning Mona.

Check out "How to Feel" , the first song on my profile. The mix needs some automation and some polishing but it was kind of thrown together tonight.

I appreciate the feedback.

Awesome. Now you're getting somewhere. Can't wait to hear the final version. Good vocalist by the way.

Thanks Bob! I'll be sure to post when I tweak and finesse it a bit!

Dude.. The guitar tones are freaking awesome. I love that ethereal sound. Nice chunk behind it too..Awesome,awesome,awesome job!!

The ONLY thing that bothers me is the muffled dubbing of the vocals in the verses. It's pulling my attention away from the singing up front too much. If it were me, I'd put it a little more in the background.

Other than that.. The whole song sounds good to me. The lyrics, vocals, guitars, nice hook in the chorus, I like the way you dropped and brought it back, all of it. I like it. A lot!!

F-ck Me.

I want to play this song in my cover band.

Dude - you know how to put a song together. I mean, you know. This is great stuff.

You either need to be in a big, serious band that is carried by a major label, or you need to be producing, or something. Because f-me, you have talent.

I'd want to be in this band. The energy in this song is awesome. And it sounds great. I mean, I'm not an engineer, so I'm sure there's a couple tweaks you could make to make it sound even better - maybe thousands of dollars of studio equipment gives you that final polish, I don't know. But to me, it sounds great. The guitars - to die for. Awesome.

Top notch.

Absolutely the best recording/song that I've heard on here in my short and joyful tenure at BandMix.

The only criticism I have is that its sounds like some overplayed radio songs on some stations around here. That's not your fault, that's the current market which means you are well in that particular pipeline.

Good that you now have a voice to carry it through. It certainly makes a big difference.
Best regards.

Chippy.

Awesome!

I think I told you before that you have a good head for arrangements too, which is really nice!

Looking forward to more!

I like this guy's voice, es. He has a good range & control. This is a pretty damned good effort. I love the way it stops at 3:00, &, while the end is rather abrupt, it's effective. Good song. Very contemporary. Great production, save for the vocals being a little unclear due to effects (?), but perhaps a Sonic Maximizer would clear some of that up? I always like your guitar work, es. Well done, indeed!

"It was kind of thrown together tonight" ... lol. You wouldn't know it by listening to it. You make it sound like you just threw paint at a canvas. Well, that's some great sounding for splatter art!

Great job. Keep it up!
Chris

eseime - I have a critique! I've been listening your tracks carefully, and I think I know what is missing that will make them sound better! Your drum tracks are set on auto-glide. There are no drum rolls or builds between the transitions - to me, a good drum build up on a lot of your songs would just ice the cake.

I agree Chris. The drums are what is lacking in all my tunes. The funny thing is that the drumming you hear is actually me playing in real time on a yamaha keyboard hehe. I don't have a drum machine and haven't picked up midi sequencing so it really limits my abilities to do anything as far as drum tracks. DOH!

Philbymon- what is sonic maximizer? Is it built into protools?

Again thank you all for the feedback! This is what I'm looking for. Input from fellow musicians!
