This is the first song off my new set...I hope to have some rough music up for it soon (right now it's just me on acoustic and some really dry vocals-and a drum machine!).

I just wanted to throw the lyrics out there and see what kind of responses I get...

Alright, I posted it, along with another new one-"Need A Little". These are very, very raw...no mix, little fx, just me on vocals, acoustic and bass-playing to a drum machine. It's just to give y'all an idea of what I'm working on...

The "Scratching Post" song reminds me of the B52's for some odd reason...with maybe the tiniest touch of Talking Heads...& I dunno why, cuz it really doesn't sound like either band, yet I could clearly hear them doing it. I like the way it ends. Good bass.

"Need a Little" - this sounds to me like a B side to any of those Britidh Invasion things that came through in the late 60's, due to the chord structure & vocals.

These hardly sound like they came from the same guy, Joseph! I love that! You have great lyrical content in these. Good songs.

Thanks, Phil! Funny, I've been hitting the 80's stuff a lot lately...maybe it's coming through in my own work. I appreciate the input.
