Curious - didn't you get handed down a studio or at least some equipment that you were building up? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Nope. That's me. :-)

The Holidays came along, and also a MOVE for me to Saint Marys, GA, which is only about 25-30 minutes from me here.

But it's in my mom's house and with the move, I need my tax money back, to get my minivan legal so I can drive it back and forth.

It's on hold for month or so.

My mom still wants me to utilize it, and so do I, so... just need to get my ducks in a row.

LOL

Ya know, if you lived in California I'd let you use my truck ;) Keep us updated when your ducks fall in line. I'd love to see pics of your studio when you get it squared away.

Chris

Craig, when you get your studio situated I may be interested in your 3 song special. Do you have access to other players (pedal steel, mandolin, banjo, fiddle).

Just me, right now.

I have all those sounds, and they are pretty realistic, like when you hear the lead guitar on some of my songs.

I would have to see how realistic I can play them though, but I usually get a good feel for things pretty fast.

I have had several bands show interest in the studio already, and they want to come check it out. But I had to put it off for a month, which sucks, but I don't have a choice right now.

My mother's mixer is an automated pro-tools board, but I want the recordings in MY computer, and not hers, so I need to buy a Firewire adapter... unfortunately mine doesn't have one. :-(

But I am getting connections every week, so hopefully I can develop a stable of studio musicians... but then of course, I couldn't charge that cheap for a full production and the musician fees.

But I wouldn't mind trying it out myself for you, and you can pay something after you decide it works for you.

It would be good practice for me!

Let me know when you're ready to try something!

Well, looks like the break is over concerning the Studio!

I have a customer coming into the studio in 2 weeks, to finish a song of his (I will be on the copyright with him, cause he wants help on both the lyrics and melody) and then I will record his vocals to go over the backing tracks he has. (He already has backing tracks for this first song, that he bought from someone else a while back)

But this guy likes my own backing tracks and arrangements, now that he's heard them, so he is also planning on contracting with me to finish a few of his other songs!

Plus, he has already booked studio time in February as well!

The first project is for Atlantic Records, who requested a specific style song, for some project of theirs. This guys is also going to school for "producing" in Orlando somwhere, but he lives in Jacksonville.

Seems like he has a few connections, so this work I'm doing for him, should lead to some other things down the road.

My first official client!

I'm stoked!

:-)
