I find myself doing more and more facepalms everywhere these days when dealing with people. It's like everyone is just getting dumber and dumber. Things that should be common sense seem outside the grasp of people.

I try to explain a point and I just get canned responses and blank stares.

And people online (except a lot of ppl here of course).. OMG, if they are lucky enough to have a 3rd grade grammer ability, I consider myself lucky. Especially when people type crap like:

"We our going too play a gig at there place next week" OMG, really? really?

Yeah, I'm frustrated lol. The worst part of it all is that these nitwits all think that I'm the idiot because they can't understand me. In the past, the scenario was funny because everyone else knew which people were idjits.. but now? Nope, since MOST are idiots, the majority now think I'm the idiot, cause I can't speak their language (or can't come to wrong conclusions based on circular and failed logic application)..

..sigh

There's no "kind of" to it. It's 100% true.

:(

I really want to follow that with some wise-ass remark, but it's too depressing.

I have always answer my sons questions of "why did so n so do that ?" with the standard "people are stupid".
I cant bash too many folk about grammar or spelling (like ya'll haven't noticed already) but my mind has always moved two words faster than I can write. I even spent a summer back in about 67 doing phonics with a tutor due to my "sound spelling" she called it. But alas to no avail.
Read some of the written communications from the revolutionary period and American Civil War.
These were eloquently written yet many of the words were not spelled according to Webster.
Proper spelling and grammar is all English teacher bullshirt anyways IMO.
It's the acts of stupidity that I stand in awe of.
The TSTL diagnosis is prominent.

Too stupid to live:

And I could introduce you to a whole hospital full of them.

In the super protective bubble of our global society you no longer have to have it going on to stay alive, and these dufi are breeding like rats!

For one thing, we are using our technologies in totally wrong ways.

Ppl don't know how to count change anymore, cuz we dummied down the system. Buy a new car, & you won't need to remember to turn on your lights. It'll remind you ad nauseum to put on your seat belts. The brakes will tap themselves to keep you from sliding on ice or snow. In a few cases, the damned car will park itself for ya! No need to learn to play guitar, just play guitar hero! We have spell check, so don't bother to learn to spell. Everyone speaks in initials now, so text away! Yadda yadda yadda...

We have dummied down our society until it can be popular to be a dummie. Who needs to think, other than the ppl who can dummie stuff down further for us?

Only in these modern times could a pres be elected who cannot say the word "nuclear." He'd never have been popular in the more educated past, cuz everyone would have expected him to be as stupid as he turned out to be. Today, we LOVE stupid. It evens the playing field for ALL of us.

*sigh*

I remember the good old days, when we told machines what to do. Now, of course, it's the other way around.

And don't we all just LOVE our GPS! No more need for those annoying maps! "Turn left at the next corner." "Bear right at the light." "Make a u-turn at your next opportunity..."

GPS ?

I only carry one when deep in the primordial ooze.
When I was younger and stronger I had no concern of being lost in the deep wood. Now, well?

And thank God for spell check. LOL

Our race has been dependent on technology from the beginning.
Fire, the spear, flint knives, and the atl-atl.

It's 14 degrees here this morning.
I'm sure glad the power is still on.

It's in the teens here, too, sans. I heat with wood. Wood that I cut & split. Sure am glad I did that, cuz 'lectric heat's expensive!

Being dependent upon technology is okay, as long as you have enough knowledge to handle things when it doesn't work. Most ppl today don't fall into that category...

That's quite true Phil.

I'd love to have a Franklin or some sort of wood stove in my home and studio / shop. Some of the newer stove designs are very efficient.
Though I could burn dead-fall off my place some, I would have to buy wood.
Wood is still fairly plentiful in East Texas, but it,s not cheap. There are opportunities to fell your own here as well. With landowner permission of course.

Hey sans - a local Dr wanted me to destroy his old med records, & I told him I would. So I brought a bunch home, rolled them up & tried burning them in my wood stove. Not a good plan. They provided little to no heat, but I thought it was a pretty good try, eh? I ended up taking them to be recycled, & it cost him a bunch.

Oh by the way, GOOD MORNING PHIL !! :D

The Unites States as a whole has fallen far below most of the advanced countries in terms of producing intelligent and educated people. People don't read, watch too much TV and have little ambition or drive to improve. Our kids have less math and science skills, are unable to spell or write coherent sentences and parents don't really care.

Learn Chinese now, so you can relate to your future boss.
