Elton John says he's been helping Eminem kick drugs.

"I've been helping Eminem over the last 18 months and he's doing brilliantly," John told BBC radio.

John didn't discuss any details, but in 2005 Eminem entered rehab for addiction to sleeping pills and then took a three-year hiatus.

"It's no secret I had a drug problem," he later told Vibe magazine.

"If I was to give you a number of Vicodin I would actually take in a day? Anywhere between 10 to 20. Valium, Ambien, the numbers got so high I don't even know what I was taking."

He also nearly overdosed on methadone, a heroin substitute.

Elton John also battled drugs and booze throughout his career but says he has been sober since the '80s.

The "Rocket Man" singer has counseled other celebrity addicts, including the late Michael Jackson, but says he doesn't force his advice on anyone.

"I'm there if people want my help," he said in the BBC interview that aired yesterday.

"If people ask for help you tell them where to go but there's no point advising people if they don't want to do it."

pffffft.

Do it, or don't do it. Pretty damn simple.

As Captain Scott would say to them:
Don't bore me with your whining.

When somebody filthy rich starts into the drugs it can be even worse. They can get whatever they want and whatever quantiity they want. Look at the problem Rush Limbaugh had with painkillers. I'm glad I went with a naturopathic solution when I had serious health problems about 3 1/2 years ago. I avoid perscription drugs like the plague. All natural for me or nothing. And I'll put up with a little pain without any painkillers...

Considering that you can you die from opiate withdrawals, benzo withdrawals, or alcohol withdrawals... not always so simple.

I'm a snob on this subject (well perhaps on lots of subjects)
I faced the alcoholic and the drug addiction dragons myself.
And I kicked their asses.

All it takes is just don't do it. Be a man, and be at choice.
I can drink a beer or liqueur if I want or not.
I can smoke a J, or just walk away at choice.
Cocaine was the hardest. I dropped that shyt cold freakin turkey because I wanted to be stronger than it was.
I'm not special.
I'm just a man.
If I can do it, then they can man their ass up and do it to.

That,s pretty simple.
