Imagine this: You're walking down a crowded shopping street - the kind of place where lots of musicians play for change, or "busk" - and all of sudden you see no less a presence than Bono performing among them.

More, he's joined by Glen Hansard, of Swell Season, and the popular Irish songwriters Damien Rice and Mundy.

That very thing happened on Christmas Eve on Dublin's busy Grafton Street - a place famous for "busking," according to EW.com.

Interestingly, Hansard had played such a character on that very street in the hit cult movie "Once."

The group of famous musicians played for about an hour, performing songs like "Stand By Me," and "One," according to EW.com. They donated all the money tossed in their can to the homeless charity Simon Community.

That's possibly the most holiday thing I have heard yet...

Charity is wonderful until you get someone to administer it.
That's how the $ goes bye-bye..

U2 ?

Ugh, cross the street and hope you get mugged.

Seriously, charity is cool and much needed.
Once you advertise it though, it ceases to be charitable in my mind.
See what a great guy I am helping out these poor slobs.
Why not just send an anonymous $100,000 check? :?
