Just in to the weather center, new data indicates a very dangerous blizzard developing for the entire Kansas City area. A huge storm system will start moving up into Missouri just east of the K.C. Metro area drawing frigid temperatures and drawing copious moisture from the southeast into the frigid air creating an extremely dangerous storm capable of dumping 10-14 inches of snow, temps dropping to 10 degrees (or less) with wind gusts 40-50 mph. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS WEATHER SITUATION. TRAVEL MOST OF CHRISTMAS DAY WILL BE VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE. Be thankful you're not anywhere near this monster inland storm...

Be careful out there Bob, if you have to get out. I see video of this stuff on the news and Texans are not the only people too stupid to drive on ice and snow.

Where is the damn plows? I can't even get out of the driveway. Maybe they have Christmas off. At least my wife can make it out, she's got four wheel drive. As nice as my Ford Focus is, it sucks in the snow.

I did a bit of cross country skiing in our swamp today, but the little bit of snow we had is fast subliming away! Thats OK with me , I'm ready for spring!

Don't worry Bob, it will be fishin' season before ya know it! :D

Finally got out today, still no plow. Enough people got out to trample the snow down just enough for me to make it out of our dul-de-sac (I live in little townhouse on the prairie). When I got back I shovelled a space big enough to get my car parked safely. I went around and shoveled a bunch of the sidewalk and three staircases (two of them neighbor's). If everybody who lived around here went out and shoveled just a bit (100-200 square feet) we wouldn't need no plows. In China when they have a big snowstorm every capable person goes out with shovels and brooms and removes snow where it's feasible. Why are Americans so damn lazy? Maybe it's just another reason why China just about owns us. It's called WORK ETHIC. There's nothing wrong with hard labor once in a while. It's good for the soul...We got another 2-4 inches last night and during the day today. More shoveling ahead for me it looks like...

Bob for most Americans to follow the oriental work ethic once a year would land their sorry asses in the ER.

Thanks but I have plenty of broken hips and heart attacks to deal with now.

Glad we did not get any of that. Though I have a jeep and lots of driving experience, I've been to sick to get out. My wife went to Houston to my nephew's wedding with my eldest daughter and my two boys. I stayed home.
I feel stronger today. But not enough to shovel snow !!

Called the neighborhood association, STILL NO PLOW. Then late this afternoon a plow comes and makes one worthless pass. By now most of the snow has been compressed into ice so the plow was useless. I ended up shoveling more of the damn parking lot than I ever have before. What am I paying association dues for? I remember when I lived outside Boston they had plows out DURING the storm. That's the way to clear snow. Get it BEFORE it piles up...
