So, I stopped in this bar...

No, this isn't a bad joke.

I stopped in this bar, & was griping about the lack of work to a friend. The owner overheard me & bitched me out for not stopping in sooner. Then she proceeded to offer me "as much work as I want." They have stopped just about all the musical stuff they had going, cuz they were irritated & bored with the acts they had, she told me. (I think she likes me a little, for some ungodly reason.)

So I'm gonna get some solo work going again. Good bucks, that. I have a cpl gigs set up next year, & this new one wants me at least twice a month, then I can prolly get some work from some of the other places I used to play, once I get everything up & running with my own equipment again.

I have an idea to have some sit-ins with some guys I know, just to keep from getting too boring, myself.

At least it'll be some income...now, all I hafta do is save up enough to buy my own damned equipment. I just want one of them all-in-one acoustic amps that'll let me do the solo stuff for now. Any suggestions on cheap & good ones out there? I haven't seen anything new in awhile.

Walking and talking is a good policy. If you tell EVERYBODY you meet what you do (musically or not) you have a better chance of getting work. I've got my car covered with commercial signs for my wood restoration business and I occasionally wear Fuller Brush hats and tell everybody that I play in a band. This day and age ANYTHING that advances you economically is a good thing...

What do you need in an "all in one" acoustic amp?
Two or more lines in for guitar & mic ?
Built in speaker ? (aka combo amp)

Ok ok now I you know I have to say "check out the Carvin site" LOL
They have the Stagemate line intended for such a purpose.
They should be paying ME !

Getting gigs is good news. Before I got off into this biz I dont think I truly understood the feelings when my buddies would get all excited about the prospect of "work".

Good luck n God speed. :D

Performing in front of people AND getting paid for it is good work if you can get it...

Hell yeah she's hot...but she CO-owns with her hubby, who's a rather rough type biker guy.

I think I'll just shut up & play my guitar.

sans - yeah just a lil all-in-one, with maybe 4 inouts, both hi & low imp.

I've used a cpl Fenders, a Crate, & some off-brand, & one of the Fenders was pretty nice, while the other one sucked, the Crate was barely okay, & the off-brand was just....er...off.

Fender Acousticsonic ?

Heard nice things about them, but have no personal experience with them.
