When I went to view this there was a Youtube video of Freddy King performing the same song with the same model Gibson guitar (I think). Clapton's version was good, Freddy's was great.

Yep, I watched that one too. Great performance...HORRENDOUS MIX! It sounds like the only reason you're hearing Freddie at all is because his amp is bleeding into the horn mics. The rhythm guitar is louder than him during his solo :( . The following is my fav Freddie King youtube vid...

There's quite a few Youtube videos of Freddy King, some have better sound quality than others for sure. All of them show the greatest blues guitarist who ever lived in my opinion. He was astonishing and died way too young (age 47?). Thank God there's many Freddy King albums and videos for us to watch and listen to and be continually dazzled...
