Because I picked up this horrible creeping crud. No fever yet, but my throat and especially under my tongue is VERY SORE. I'm hitting it with all kinds of over-the -counter stuff. Tried to rehearse yesterday but I could only sing at one level, sounded monotone as hell. Is anybody else sick from all this crap going around? I think I actually may have already had swine flu in August. I had all the classic symptoms. Never went to a doctor for it (I hate doctors) but I'm sure that's what I had. I hope EVERYONE FEELS BETTER THAN ME. And I hope I feel better by Thanksgiving...

I still can't hear much, & ppl keep telling me I'm talking too loud. I'm getting seriously concerned over this 3 + week stuff.
I AM taking the meds, though. ANYTHING to reverese this at tihs point!
Hope you're feeling better soon, bob. It sucks when you physically can't do what you love.

The first time in about 6 years I've been knocked down by something like your describing. Reminds me of the bad cases of broncitus I used to get when I smoked a couple packs of cigs a day. I can't figure why my mouth is so sore . Sort of the way you'r describing. I'll try to see my doc today if I can. My sugars are redicules this morn so I won't screw around with it. I hope you feel better soon though !
Just another day in Paradise !!!!

Went to the naturopath yesterday. She felt along both sides of my throat and around my adam's apple. The best she can tell is one of my lymph nodes is swollen. Usually when you have a bad sore throat there's some swelling with all of them. She prescribed some different herbals to see if we can't drive the swelling down. If it doesn't happen then an ultrasound next week. Hope it's not the Big C. And I hope whatever they find doesn't affact my vocal chords. My family doesn't have much of a history of cancer, mainly heart problems, Parkinson's, and diabetes. This is very localized pain but it's in a bad place. Hard to sleep at night, almost no way to get comfortable...

Not anything unusual about swollen lymph nodes. Thats what they do. Any upper respiratory infection can puff em up pretty good. Especially if you still have your tonsils. Be wary of strep though. The little buggers will attack your heart valves if left untreated. I really dont believe much in antibiotics, but I'll run a full course in case of strep infection.
Our bands been fighting off the crud. Last night was our first full band rehearsal in what seems like a freakin month.
Best wishes and prayers for ya Bob.
You'll be fine my man. I can feel it in my old bones

The regimen of natural antibiotics worked wonders already. I coughed out a bunch of crud early this morning. Just about felt like a new man. I still have the swollen glands, but the ache in my left ear when I swallow is gone (a good sign?) and I can sleep much easier. The naturopath has been a godsend to me. I really believe she saved my life a few years ago when I had a massive bout with irritable bowel. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

Pain is nearly completely gone. I can sing again! Now where's that fourth band member? Maybe I need to browse Bandmix, Craig's isn't working as usual...
