Paul, at my very first Haleamano gig there was a singer/songwriter using one of these. It was actually pretty impressive. Going through a PA it sounds natural. I remember a couple of us commenting on it that night.
I personally have one of those little T.C. Helicon active monitors shown on the page as well. Sounds great, not a whole lot of volume to them. I don't think it was worth $250 myself. If it would just go a little louder I would. I can't use it in a live band setting, awesome for practicing. The quality is amazing.
In my opinion, T.C. Helicon makes high quality, durable stuff. I wouldn't doubt that this is the best you can buy for a vocal effect pedal if you're in the market for one.

Neanderpaul,
Don't ya remember my cheesy "Pressed Rat "video?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BE1I1tmZ2xw
That was recorded absolutely live useing only a pitch transpose setting in the on board FX in my new cheap Behringer rack mixer.
You of all people should know by now that all is fair in love and makin' muzak! (Ya 'OL loop head)
Gizmos are always cool but I wouldn't rely on them. That dude on the promotion vidio would sound just as good without the embellishments,in my opinion.
anyways,
to each his own!

Thanks 'ol buddy,

By the way, if your ears were ringing lately, it may because I was thinkin' about you and your old Super Reverb. I just received the new Musicians Friend Christmas catalog and they are advertising BRAND NEW original design 1965 black panel Fender Super Reverbs, for the princely sum of $ ONE THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED and 99 cents. (I sold mine to Ceasar Diez many years back for $ 100!
