I set my office on fire yesterday.

I dumped my ashtray into the trash, & it caught fire...oooops!

I'd waited a goodly while before I dumped it, & I have these crappy new non-flammable cigs, so I figgered it was safe enough.

Then I started cooking dinner, & noticed a stinky buirning smell. That's when I discovered the fire on my desk!

Gathered it all up & ran with the burning stuff for the front door, but singed my hands pretty good & dropped it on the hall carpet. It's pretty old, & I was in a rush, so I just stomped it out at that point. Took a lil while to get the rest of the stuff out...there was embers in stacks of papers. The hall carpet's ruined, too, but that's no big loss. It was fun juggling the fire & dinner & Jace...but I managed. This all took about 10 minutes, for me to accomplish nearly total devestation...



Needless to say - I'm in trouble again.

All's well, but it's a lil stinky.

The moral of the story? I'm an idjit & should be kicked in the bum. (Fortunately, I'm married to a wonderful world-class bum-kicker!)

All I keep thinking buddy, is...

DAMN GOOD THING you weren't on the way to Fishing or Dinner or anything else, SOMEWHERE ELSE!

The whole damn place would have went up!

Lucky you caught it and were home.

Imagine if you had went to sleep right away?

And woke up to a WORSE fire?

Maybe you got a new band name out of this...

Believe me, those thoughts are up front & center in my stupid lil brain pan, & if they weren't, I'd still have my wife here to remind me...& re-remind me...& re-re-re-remind me... ...AND I get to yank up the carpet & put down some decent flooring, which I was gonna do eventually, anyway...'cept I wasn't planning on doing it all this soon...but it's a small lil hall, & won't cost that much to put in some parkay tiles, which I already have! (I don't think I've got enough, but I won't need more than a single box to complete it).

Well I think that answers my question!!
Arson would come under deliciously wicked me thinks.
