Does anyone remember this?

I was saddened when the Beatles broke up. They were my heroes, growing up. When I heard of a movie coming out using their music, I was excited about it until I heard that it wasn't going to use their performances.

The movie seemed to fly by without my getting a chance to see it. It lasted in theaters about a week, I think, & I'd heard that there were copyright issues involved.

Years later, I stumbled across the original soundtrack on LP, & it's one of my more prized possessions.

Evidently, it was a rather stupid attempt to combine Beatles songs with actual WWII stock footage in documentary form.

Still...I wanna see it!

Has anyone in here seen this film?

Peter Gabriel did a killer job on "Strawberry Fields Forever." It was the very 1st recording he did after leaving Genesis.

Nope, never heard of it but if Gabriel is on it I'd like to.

It will be 35 years this Nov.28 since I saw Genesis do "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway".

Did you see it with Gabriel, or was Collis the singer by then? I wish I'd seen that one!

Yeah, you can download Gabriel's version somewhere, I'm sure. It was fantastic! It's the only song he did, though.

Aerosmith's "Come Together" came from this, too. There was some great stuff on that double LP. I wish my turntable worked.

OMFG!!!!!

I HAD that album, it was a double-album, when I was 6 or 7 years old - It had the MOST DEPRESSING versions of beatles songs you've ever imagined!

I haven't thought about that since I was like 12 haha.

Good one.

This was Gabriel's swan song, he left right after. It was Thanksgiving night (and my father's birthday).

I have to laugh, if I ever had a soft spot it would be for Peter Gabriel.

Never heard one of his tunes that I could resist humming to a little.

THAT should be the definition of a successful band. Someone that doesn't like your genre, still "hooked" by your music.
