There are times where I've tried selling equipment on Craigslist, and people just flag your ad for no reason and it gets removed. Most likely so their ad gets seen instead of yours.

You would think that people would understand that sometimes people need some quick cash these days. We're in a freaking recession. But a**holes will still pull their s**t.

Damnit man.. I'm never using that site again. My ads just keep getting flagged and I have to re-post. If Craigslist can't figure out a better way than to just have an ad removed immediately for no reason by some random d**k, then f**k them.

Anyone else have this problem with Craigslist??

I haven't had any of my ads flagged. I sell all the time.

I wonder if it's possible to find out who's flagging your ads. Are your ads pornographic? Are you selling used dildoes? Something sounds fishy there. It would be really nice to be able to flag the flagger so to speak...I've never had any trouble on Craig's List.

haven't had this problem at all myself and list their all the time. I think it takes two people to flag you to get you pulled down. were you posting about gtr lessons in the 'for sale' area? I've seen folks do this and complain that they get flagged when there is a section for 'services offered'.
I've also seen folks flagged for offering something and saying it's x but really it's y... like a 'bolex' watch.

Nope, just regular equipment. No weird stuff. Obviously we just have someone who's being a clown. Craigslist shouldn't make it so easy for someone to remove an ad. That's what happens when you leave it up to the people to police their own, some clown always comes around and has to be a pain in the ass.

Probably just some kids or jerks. There's quite a few on there.

I've had that problem in the "rants and raves" section lol- I think I went there about a week total. It's nothing but a bunch of racist crazies, and when you post anything that doesn't support their rants, they flag and remove you.

It's quite bizarre but if you check out the reading, pa R&R section, you will see what I mean.. I know we have free speech and all that, but these people actually post swastikas and white power propaganda and everything - total sociopaths. I gave up long ago..


As far as selling stuff.. meh.. I've made posts calling out sellers that I know are scam artists, and they flag them. Actually it's ONE specific guy who buys junked cars, slaps current inspection stickers on them and resells them as working and legal. The cops can't do anything to stop him, long story.. but let's say they make laws against things, then leave enough loopholes that they can't even legally enforce them.. heh

I NEVER had any music gear flagged, but I'd suggest looking for someone selling the same or similar item(s) and send them a nasty email, after you flag their sh*t, of course. Let them know two can play that game.

Shredd.... I have the same exact probs when selling my equipment and advertising my band... everybody knows who I am in the LI section and there are a lot of haters! I've turned down many a musician looking for a guitarist or auditioning for me and now I've got me a lot of haters! I couldn't sell my LP studio for over a year because everytime I put it up, it would get flagged! Also, when PanikAtack broke up all my ads to reform the band went right out the window as the ads would get flagged within 10 minutes..... I started posting at 2AM so the ad would age a little and that's how the guys from MUGSY found me.... Lotsa haters on CL.... There should definitely be mods on there to control the flagging...any schmuck shouldn't have the right to flag for any reason!

Eccchhh, I tried to get a 20$ fender 15 amp practice amp from a guy.

I wrote immediately because it was in my home town.

The f**k waits 3 days to tell me he's having a garage sale and if I get there, I can have it.

WELL... He wouldn't give me any directions or a physical address. He said that there are signs posted at the intersection of FAQ OFF lane and EAT MY Azz ave.

I would have normally laughed and forgot it, but I got this thing I do with 6 fender squire 15 watt amps and I blew up 2, so I need more.

I got lost 2x and when i finally got to his place, I had to watch some grandma walk with my practice amp for 20$.

I almost punched him and did a burn out on his lawn, instead I took his garage sale signs and dumped them.

The asshole had the nerve to try and sell me some antiques, not even music related.

If they won't give you a physical address and/or show up immediately, they are playing a game with you.
